Most men living into their seventies do so with somewhat of a cloud over their head. As they age up the possibility of having to deal with enlargement of their prostate is almost a given. Even more of a concern is one regarding the onset of Prostate Cancer. It is one of the more difficult diagnosis to be made. Although the standard for many years has been the result of a PSA test, some have questioned how valid the procedure might be. No other procedure has been discovered to correctly diagnose the early onset of the cancer.
Today, the standard generally is to monitor one's PSA count and to watch and wait for a sudden, somewhat rapid increase. Should one experience such a change, the next step is almost always to consider doing a biopsy. Biopsies require an insertion into the prostate gland. The major issue is to find the area where they may be cancer growth.
More recently there have been studies that demonstrate the use of supplements having success in lowering PSA counts.
We have one mission, and one mission only: to help you live a healthier, longer life.
My Prostate Story - Lyle Replogle
In January of 2016 my PSA had reached 6.9 having moved up from 5.2 on July 31, 2015. On July 31, 2014 it was 4.8 and was at 3.3 in June of 2011. My urologist recommended a biopsy. I chose to wait three months and went on a daily regimen of taking-
I had for some time been taking 1 capsule of Life Extension 400 mg each Super Bio Curcumin and had been taking one 50 mg Ubiquinol each day. I also had been and continued to take Mega Green Tea (725 mg) from Life Extension and a very complete multi-vitamin (Life Extension Mix- it accounted for 3 mg of the born).
After three months my urologist had me take a new PSA
test. My PSA had dropped 20 percent to 5.4 and the Urologist could only suggest that it be tested again in six months. I will continue to supplement like above.
It is important that one take supplements of high quality. They are all not the same. The BCM-95® Bio-Curcumin® is of particular importance I have partnered with Life Extension after having used their products for some time. Any of the links will take you to their web site.
Supplements, like prescription drugs, most likely can result in different results. More and more studies however, show that the use of supplements are effective in a large number of people.
One of the more important actions you can take to maintain good health is to discover problems before they develop into major issues. Life Extension offers a great opportunity for you to order many different blood tests.
Boron Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk
Compelling evidence is accumulating that the trace mineral boron plays an important role in protecting men against deadly prostate cancer.
As men grow older, their risk for prostate cancer skyrockets and metastasis outside the prostate is “uniformly lethal.”
Fortunately, eye-opening studies demonstrate that boron has been found to selectively kill prostate cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. In addition, boron has been found to lower PSA—which was previously believed to be only a marker for prostate cancer. More recent research shows that elevated PSA is a causative factor in prostate cancer progression. READ THE COMPLETE ARTICLE
Curcumin: Aging Brains and Cancer
Recent findings show curcumin favorably affects deadly mechanisms involved in cancer and Alzheimer’s, such as impaired cell signaling and abnormal gene regulation. Scientists have also discovered curcumin can boost production of new neurons. Read about: The Aging Brain-Alzheimer's- Parkinson-curcumin & cancer-slow progression of fast growing cancers. Study Reveals Four Nutrients that Lower PSA and Slow Cancer Progression
Prostate cancer is a leading cause of cancer death among men. Yet, only about 15% of new prostate cancer diagnoses require immediate and aggressive treatment.
The majority of newly diagnosed prostate cancer cases have low- or intermediate-risk malignancies. For men with low risk malignancies, oncologists sometimes practice “watchful waiting” or “active surveillance,” monitoring parameters such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) to evaluate tumor progression. This approach can delay the need for aggressive treatment, and in many cases is turning out to reduce or eliminate the need for surgery chemo, or radiation therapy. READ THE COMPLETE ARTICLE
